On the 2nd January 2007 the UK Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) regulations came into force. WEEE aims to reduce the amount of electrical and electronic equipment (EEE) ending up in landfill. Instead the regulations require the collection, treatment, recycling and environmentally sound disposal of used/old appliances.

Under the WEEE Regulations, all new electrical goods should now be marked with the crossed-out wheeled bin symbol. Goods are marked with this symbol to show that they were produced after 13th August 2005, and should be disposed of separately from normal household waste so that they can be recycled.

It has been estimated that landfill space in the UK will run out within the next 10 years.

Appliance Express Ltd operate a system called ‘HOMESERVE’. This system gives you the option for us to set up your new appliance and remove it together with any packaging. This is done for a small handling charge.
